Of course no body falls for these schemes or at least that is the hope.

Nobody in their right frame of mind takes them seriously in fact they just casually shrug them, assuming nothing good would come off them. Yet there have been significant improvements over the years, for one many email services have set up very smart spam filters. That has had a marked reduction in internet spam over the years. Users are no longer given the horrid spectacle of these spam messages running amok over their email inboxes.
And many genuine competition holding companies have also marked their ground ensuring confidence and commitment to the people who enroll in their competitions.
